The Development Bank of Ecuador B.P. maintains, since 2008, its Quality Management System certified in the ISO 9001-2015 Standard. Keeping it reflects the institution's commitment to meeting the requirements of the quality standard, continuous improvement, increased productivity, and a culture of excellence.
Thanks to the fact that the Bank has a Quality Management System, certified based on the International Standard ISO 9001: 2015, the potential of the institution as a business partner of its clients increases, even more so considering that this certification is validated by the following International Accreditation Organizations: UKAS (United Kingdom), ANAB (United States) and CGCRE (Brazil), which are in turn acknowledged by the International Financing Organizations, and by the National SAE (Ecuadorian Accreditation Service), contributing positively in the analysis, feasibility and delivery of resources for the financing of the national public works.
The certifying company SGS del Ecuador SA, in October 2020, carried out the External Audit of Re-Certification of the "Quality Management System" of the BDE BP, in which compliance with the legal, regulatory and inmates of the Institutions as well as the requirements established in the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Standard, were verified.
The scope of the BDE B.P. In the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard includes all the processes, products and services of the institution at the national level (Headquarters) and at the decentralized level (Zonal Branches). The audit team of the SGS Certification Company of Ecuador stated in its 2020 report:“The audit team concludes that the organization has established and maintained its management system aligned with the requirements of the standard and demonstrated the ability of the system to systematically achieve the requirements agreed for products and services within the scope, policies, and objectives of the organization. Therefore, the audit team recommends, based on the results of this audit and the state of development and maturity demonstrated by the system, for the certification of the management system to remain active”.Therefore,"CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED IN THE ISO 9001: 2015, Quality Management System Certification".This recommendation allows to maintain the Quality Certification until the year 2023.
The achievements of the Institution can be attributed to the fact that in 2020 it satisfactorily complied with the quality policy and the institutional objectives, and executed the processes systematically. It also carried out monitoring and control of individual and collective competencies and focused its efforts on complying with strategic planning. The commitment of the members of the Organization ought to be highlighted.
