El turismo como herramienta de desarrollo nacional
Tourism has become the axis of economic and social activity in several countries in the world, acting as an instrument for comprehensive and inclusive development, job creation and improvement in the quality of life of the population through entrepreneurship, infrastructure and foreign exchange income.
In recent years, tourism has become one of the fastest growing economic sectors on a national scale, contributing with 10.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Through direct or indirect and induced effects, it contributes 1 out of every 10 jobs and generates 1.5 billion dollars in exports, representing 6% of global exports.
That is why the Development Bank of Ecuador B.P. (BDE), in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, makes available to its clients a financing line for the execution of projects related to tourism.
